Change is Constant
Everything in nature is subject to change. As a reminder, you are nature. The relationship we have to our family, career, friendships, goals, time, significant others, food, fitness, philosophy, location, God, heritage, finances, and values are continually shifting. And while it is our nature to adapt— because change is the only thing that is constant—within the body and mind, the uncertainty of change can be terrifying and painful. So much so, we may fearfully resist change to choose the comfort and supposed safety of monotony despite the ache of stagnation. If you’re at the threshold of a new chapter in your life, I wonder if deep down you’ve grown tired of where you are for some time. If you desire something more, something new, Life is calling you to change. That change is growth.
“A creatively lived life is any life where consistently, routinely, habitually, and constantly, you choose the path of curiosity over the path of fear. Not once, not twice, not a few times, but all the time.” - Elizabeth Gilbert
How would you describe yourself from five years ago? Twenty years ago? See? You are already well-versed in the art of change and transformation. We were literally built for this. And no matter how far we’ve come, we will continue to feel the pull of curiosity toward new possibilities for our lives and the world around us.
If you are being divinely led to a new threshold, I pray you will be encouraged—in full acceptance of your fear—to take the leap knowing in full faith one day you will look back and know that change is good. When you surrender to the flow of life and walk through the doors God opens for you, new adventures await.
